"September 25,  2014"
Diary comic, ink, gouache, and colored pencil on paper
Hello dear readers,
Here is a diary comic I drew while inking a soon-to-be-finished project. I upgraded to a new drawing tablet (I bought my last one when I was in middle school, in 2000), and I’m excited to integrate more digital elements in my work.
Lastly, I’ve been posting some of my sketches and doodles on instagram.

"I Want to Believe"
Brush, ink, gouache, vellum, and cut paper on toned paper.
Hello dear readers,
I love the paranormal, and I am still obsessed with the X-Files. Oh, to have been born earlier, and to have had the chance to draw a Scully and Mulder comic in their heyday. Keep watching the skis skies.

"On Trails"
Brush, ink, and gouache on post-it notes.
Hello dear readers,
I’m putting together a bunch of tiny comics for SPX with my girlfriend. Some autobio, fiction, fan fiction, collage, etc.  I’ll post more information and comics soon. I’m working on some exciting long projects which I hope to announce soon, too.

"Broken"

Unfinished comic and process sketches.

Colored pencil, ink and gouache on paper.

I started this comic last winter, dealing with my first surgery after breaking my leg in high school. I’ve written about my broken leg before, but I wanted to explore a peculiar experience I had while recuperating.

I thumbnailed much of the story, and tried drawing with varied materials and paper, before ultimately shelving it. I’m going to redraw it this year however, as I’ve found it can help me to step away from a piece for a little while.

"A Haunting" Unfinished comic
Pen and ink on bristol.
I started this comic sometime in 2012, I think. My girlfriend and I had moved into a new apartment which was seemingly haunted. Initially, only little things would be moved around, but things escalated when a spatula launched off our counter, lids flew from cabinets, impossible noises, etc.
It may have been our anxiety manifesting itself, or maybe we met a ghost. I was also researching local haunting history at the time, so I was slowly being consumed by restless spirits. l wasn’t drawing much at this time, , so I was trying to teach myself comics again from ligne-claire up.
I’ve returned to elements of this story in my forthcoming Frank Santoro Correspondence Course comic (hoping to finish it soon, sigh).

Unfinished comics process.

"Lion Sleeps Tonight"

Diary comic in pen, ink, gouache, and watercolor on paper (+ computer)

Hello dear readers,

I’m shifting gears toward some long-form works, one of which I hope to have at SPX in two month’s time. I plan to draw up a few diary comics as breaks/room to experiment, too.

"July Morning"
Gouache and watercolor on paper.
Hello dear readers,
I’m writing and drawing some longer comics, and I have some big projects on the horizon. Here is a little diary comic about doing yoga in the park. More comics are forthcoming.

"Sleep Oblivion" Unfinished comic.
Ink and gouache paint on colored paper.
Hello dear readers,
Here is a comic I started drawing over the winter, when I was trying to grapple with a very surreal sleeping schedule. I was reading a lot of Alex Toth comics at the time.
One day, I’d like to finish this, or start over completely (I’d thumbnailed a few more pages). “Sleepwalking” was a working title, which I gave up for a nod to a Yukio Mishima story. Draw, live, & learn.

"Two to Transport: Ballad of a Red Shirt"

Ink, Gouache, and computer coloring.

Hello dear readers,

I have one of my older comics on Vice today! I love Star Trek, and have often fantasized about serving aboard the Enterprise. My favorite series, in order: Tie of DS9/TNG, The Original Series, Voyager/Animated Series tie.
